Turf houses in baðstofa style
In the spirit of Iceland’s past, our main accommodation quarters are built of turf and are furnished inside to resemble the ,,baðstofa“ of the old days. The ,,baðstofa“ is a communal living room that´s also used for sleeping and working on handicrafts. Our two ,,baðstofur“, in adjacent houses, are suitable for couples, families or small groups.
On the ground floor there are two beds, optional cooking facilities and a private bathroom. On the upper floor, there are five beds, each in its own bed closet, which is an old Icelandic form of interior architecture.
Each of the two houses thus has space for six to seven people, adding up to a total of 13 – 14. You may order accommodation in these houses only with made up beds.
Made up beds: We offer single to triple rooms with shared facilites (bathroom, living room and kitchen).
Sleeping bag accommodation: we offer single to quatro rooms with shared facilites (bathroom, living room and kitchen).
If you prefer a room with private facilities, we suggest the turf cottages with a choice of with or without kitchen facility or our brand new rooms in a old stone farmhouse.
Turf huts at the campground
On our campsite we have two cute little turf huts with space for 4 pers. in a double beds. The huts are suited for those with their own sleeping bags and are a good way to stay out of the wind but still be out in the nature. The camp toilets, showers, kitchen and laundy facilities are all nearby, making these huts a comfortable alternative to pitchin a tent for the night.
All together we can accommodate 70 people indoors.
